Opporre all'offensiva del Tempo la vastità del ricordo la più sottile e la più fragile delle illusioni. In questa pretesa archeologica ampie zone della coscienza riemergono alla luce. Non mancano i personaggi che affrescarono quella vita lontana e d'essi, più che la voce, s'ammirano i tratti del viso, l'immobilità, lo stupore d'essere stati rintracciati. Una storia del football lunga un secolo, e in essa innumerevoli esistenze, sciatte ed eleganti ma sempre miti di sguardo, colte nel loro lieve smarrimento. E oltre: splendide vite minori. Misurarsi con un tempo chiuso, non più offensivo, un modo per allestire un altro luogo, parallelo alla vita, in cui si può passeggiare spensierati; allineando riflessioni su ciò che è stato, facile incontrare esistenze che da troppo tempo non figuravano più nel paesaggio del mondo.
Opposing to the offensive of Time the vastness of memory is the most subtle and fragile of illusions. In this archaeological claim wide regions of the conscience re-emerge. There are characters who painted this remote life and of them one can admire, besides the voice, the features of the face, the stillness, the wonder of having been traced. A century long story of football, and inside it countless lives, slovenly and smart but always with a mild glance, lives caught in their slight bewilderment. And beyond: glorious lesser life. Measuring one's skill against a closed, no more offensive, time is a way to mount another place, parallel to life, where one can stroll cheerfully; lining up thoughts about what was, it is easy to come across lives which since too much time were not there in the landscape.
